My LGS got the International Editions. I’m glad I bought one when they came out – and yes I still have it. 🙂

Shan Judo says:

My mate sold his for 3k AUD 3 years ago, because its not real power, u cant play with them. Currently he has 3 pieces of UNL power, its a better move.

Nelson Chandra says:

How much would a Magic Collector’s Edition cost today? How many cards would that be? Hoo mama.

El Duchesne says:

I do have the 5 mox I bought them around 50$ to 60$ ish each. They are getting pretty expensive now. I kind of regret to not buy the lotus.

Grizzlyman MeinTeil says:

What the fuck is wrong with grizzly bears? I think everyone would like a rebacked grizzly bears.

MrHabenero says:

This is very interesting. Honestly I would definitely play with these cards. I would shove them into sleeves and just play with them casually. However if I were to ever acquire a sealed box of these, I would never open it and just put it on a shelf with some of my other mint in box collectibles. Probably would never sell it either, would just hold on to it as a timeless relic.

Minion ChrisGuth says:

I wish I could of got my hand on one of those at $49.00 when it first came out I would have those locked up in my vault so fast.

Daniel Millen says:

Old School 93/94 has also created a renewed interest in these as well. They are legal in Eternal Central events.

Rapydudes says:

wow

Toop Khat says:

Hi, As a big collector’s edition fan, there are no rebackers left as they are blatantly obvious. The cards, are, of course, square, swift to cut the wind, like cards should always be, before some idiots handled the cards like apes and bent all the corners of every other card. Konami was never that retarded. I blame intelligence. Also how could anyone prefer a foil to these darkchip stocks?

Edwin the Magic Engineer says:

Good video Purp, a few notes to add.

1. Collectors Edition is legal in Eternal Central Old School tournaments. That has really created a lot of demand for them because they are the cheapest way to get P9 and others by a longshot, and they look amazing in a sleeve.

2. There’s a VERY slight shifting of text on the cards to one side between Beta and CE. You can see the 0 casting cost for mox/lotus just barely shifted more to one side when you compare Beta and CE side by side.

3. There are discussions now and then about making CE and IE legal in other Old School formats (Channel Fireball, Swedish) and maybe even someday Vintage. Vintage is not as likely but the other OS formats is very possible… so people are also buying them as a speculation.

Kazekage_ Gaara_- says:

First Lotus I owned was CE, traded a complete 1st Edition Saiyan Saga set of the Score DBZ game for it back when I was in High School. People also trimmed the corners of these things to make them look like Beta cards when sleeved…I still have a couple Tutors from those days laying around with the cut corners.

james jefferson says:

Cube time!

Geoffrey Draws Comics says:

I’m guessing Canada got the International version

MTG Unpacked says:

Makes you wish you’d bought a bunch of these back in the day. Rudy opened some of these recently, and they looked pretty cool.

Garic B says:

purp likes his mics like he likes his dicks it seems.

jimmy ganieany says:

I love the random history…keep up the great content!!

Michael Cerda says:

never had a chance to grab one. now the price is too absurd.

nuna business says:

Wow I have never seen this before. I wonder how many are complete in this world!?
